My son picked up a guitar at age 8, and soon found his passion. So my husband started teaching him the basic chords and how to strum, and Marlin was soon playing songs. Although I don’t know much about playing, I could see that my son needed professional instruction. We were referred to Marc by a friend, and visited him at his studio. To our delight, Marc is great with kids, having young children himself. He has the best balance of patience while giving excellent constructive correction, in a positive way. During the first lesson, Marc quickly identified several incorrect things Marlin was doing and made adjustments such as how to best hold his guitar and pick, and how to sit properly. He gave him the good habits that set him up with a strong foundation. Marc is a perfectionist in the very best of ways. He also makes learning fun. Marlin has progressed quickly because of Marc’s teaching style. I know several other kids who take lessons elsewhere and, I can say with confidence, that Marc brings his students along further, and with a set of skills faster, than anyone else I have seen. Marlin is now attending Orange County School of the Arts in the Guitar program, at the age 12. We are so proud of our son and Marc is a huge part of his success.
